Our beloved Dungeon Master has failed his last Saving Throw. E. Gary Gygax, the infamous co-creator of the legendary fantasy RPG Dungeons & Dragons, has passed on after an extended illness.

Apparently this was first reported on the Troll Lord games site this morning by a close friend. Link: www.freeyabb.com/phpbb/viewtop…

Funeral arrangements are pending. Besides his wife, E.G.G. is survived by six children.

If you are anything like me, then AD&D was a big part of your formative teenage years. Nothing ended a battle quicker than a handful of 4-sided dice into the DM's face.

RIP Mister Gygax.

This is a day of great sadness,
I remember that february 23rd of the year 1980 when I received as a birthday present that "strange" game made only of rules...
Dungeons & Dragons...
This game contributed to change my life...
Now I'm 42 and I regret the times when we could spend whole afternoons playing (and also all night long).
Today I still remember every adventure we played, "I6-Ravenloft" or the "Dragonlance" series.
Now we are all busy with our jobs and families and we lack time but every now and then we set up our little private AD&D convention, a weekend 100% dedicated to the game.

Farewell Gary we will miss you
Forever grateful
