Description

Once upon a time, cameras used this thing called FILM to capture an image. Then people would take this "film" and process it through a series of chemical baths to produce an image. Then they could take this film to another device called an enlarger whereby they could make a paper print of the image!

Recently I was going through some old stuff and came across a bunch of black and white negatives that I took when I was in High School, when Photography was actually an accredited course. I'm guessing this was back in or around 1983. Taken with my old Practica 35mm camera in downtown Toronto, this is the old Royal York hotel. This was before I ever had a camera with auto focus although it did have a built-in light meter, which was a luxury. I scanned the negative and tried to sharpen it but back then my school often supplied the students with expired B&W 100 ASA film of questionable quality, so it's not the best image. I still thought it was interesting.
